Use of the texts and pictures on this website
A Creative Commons ShareAlike licence applies to all texts on this website (within the domain names nai.nl and en.nai.nl). Texts can be used freely, but you should always cite the source (Website of the Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAI)), preferably with a link to the website. Any hyperlinks should take visitors straight to the context within which the NAI provides the content. Articles on the NAI weblog (www.nai.nl/dialoog/blog) are excepted, as are those from guest authors where copyright is explicitly stated.
In most cases, the pictures used by the NAI on the website are ones to which we hold the rights ourselves, i.e. pictures of items from the collection and photographs commissioned by the NAI. In those cases, you can freely use the pictures for other websites, papers or publications, but you should always cite the source as stated in the caption.
There are exceptions, however. The NAI does not hold the rights to all pictures shown, even if they are part of the NAI collection. If the caption states that an external party holds the rights, you cannot just use the pictures on a website or in a book. In this case, permission must be asked of that party.
Visitors of this site are reminded that the exhibited works of G. Th. Rietveld are subject of copyright law. For use of works of visual artists affiliated with a CISAC-organization, other than consultation via Internet, persmission is required from Pictoright. Pictoright can be reached by e-mail or mail: PO Box 15887, 1001 NJ Amsterdam, the Netherlands. T +31(0)20 5891840 | F +31 (0)20 4124269
Those using pictures from this website are always responsible for handling copyright issues and for any consequences of improper use. Further information on a picture’s origin can always be obtained from the NAI website editorial staff. If your query relates to items from the collection, please contact the Collection website editorial staff.
The NAI has done its utmost to trace those who hold the rights to the displayed material and to ask their permission to publicise it on the internet. This is sometimes not possible because their place of residence or that of their heirs cannot be found. Anyone who believes that they can assert any right to published texts or electronic objects on the NAI website should contact us immediately.
If you believe that the electronic publication of certain material infringes any right you own, damages your interests or invades your privacy in any way, please inform the NAI. In the event of a justified complaint, the NAI will remove the material in question from the website or look into other ways of settling your complaint. Please send your complaint to: Netherlands Architecture Institute, Attn. Web Editors, Postbus 237, 3000 AE Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
