DEBATES ON TOUR,

How can the international debate be stimulated? The NAI Debates on Tour are intended to promote the exchange of information about current universal themes in architecture around the world.

During the last year and a half, the NAI has cooperated with local partners to organise debates in Spain, Croatia, Argentina, Germany, Hungary, Romania and Italy. In December 2007 the NAI was in India, where we organised two debates with SICA on the role of 'Architecture in a Changing World'. The NAI will continue this international programme in 2008, concentrating on the following subjects:

· Development in Dutch social housing
· New craftsmanship in Dutch architecture
· Public space
· Urban density in the Netherlands
· Sustainability

The NAI organises the debates on request, in cooperation with local partners who use their network and know-how to find the appropriate local discussion partners and audience. The NAI will invite Dutch designers, architects and experts for the debate. Various (firms of) architects, each with a particular specialisation, are connected with the programme of debates.
