A treasure trove of Dutch architecture
The Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAI) acquires and manages archives encompassing all areas of Dutch architecture. This site offers you an overview of the Institute’s rich and specialised collection, which can rightfully be called a treasure trove of Dutch architecture. More than one hundred pieces from the collection are featured – drawings, models, books and photographs selected on the basis of their particular beauty or rarity. Important and ground-breaking theoretical construction projects are discussed alongside books with tips for designing your home. This cross-section of the collection offers you an overview of two hundred years of architecture in the Netherlands.

In the new permanent exhibition Treasury, you can admire 100 highlights from the vast NAI collection. Works on display include famous designs by the icons of Dutch architectural history such as Cuypers, Dudok, Rietveld and Koolhaas. The Treasury completes the new NAI, museum of architecture.

February 2009 | A first, very basic version of the new Collection
Information System (CIS) can now be consulted online. The development
of the CIS is an ambitious long-term project designed to make the
entire NAI collection accessible. While this first version of the CIS
does not yet use all the system’s options, it will enable you to search
a large part of the collection from your own computer. The inventories
of the archives are available as full text in the CIS.

The exhibition START was set up as an 'open depot' in which visitors
could consult material from the Koolhaas & OMA/AMO archives. An
archival database with background articles has been created especially
for the exhibition. This database is still available online.
