Permanent exhibition 'Treasury'. Photographer: Carel van Hees
Tour/excursion
You can visit our new permanent exhibition, ‘Treasury’, on your own or with the help of a guide. Enjoy a tour of over 100 highlights from the enormous collection of the NAi. ‘Treasury’ presents work by legendary figures in Dutch architecture – names such as Cuypers, Dudok and Oud.
The selected objects all have something to say about the character of the Netherlands. And, just as there is no single Dutch identity, there is not one narrative, but many. The ‘Treasury’ exhibition explores this diversity and richness by looking of Dutch architecture. There are scale models, drawings, sketches and photos such as the sketchbook Berlage kept during his travels through Italy around 1900, models of Rietveld’s Zig-Zag chair and Rem Koolhaas’ studies for his design of the Kunsthal. And, just as impressive as the objects in the collection, is the design for the ‘Treasury’ by Rem Koolhaas (OMA firm of architects).
