The AM NAI Prize 2012 was won by Zecc Architects and Studio Rolf.fr. The jury chose their project ‘The Black Pearl’in Rotterdam as the best design that was realised by a young architect between 2010 and 2012. The jury report states “The project is inventive, experimental and daring; it shows new possibilities. The Black Pearl is a truly inspiring project for all young architects.” The AM NAI Prize is awarded every two years and is an initiative of the NAI and project and real estate developer AM. > Read more...
The jury has of The Green Architecture Competition announced the winners of the competition. In two categories the jury awarded three projects with a First Prize and awarded one project with a honourable mention. The proposals of the prize winners and their fellow finalists are on display till July 22, at The Green Collective Exposition. The AM NAi prize is awarded every two years to the best building, constructed in the two years prior to the award date, designed by an architect under forty years of age. The winner of the 2011 Ymere NAI Competition, ‘New Harloheim’, is the team led by designers Joep van der Veen and Tom Blokkers with the plan ‘Chain Reaction – A string of pearls around a rich urban mosaic’ (‘Kettingreactie – Parelketting rond een rijk stedelijk mozaïek’). This third edition of the competition focused on Haarlem , specifically Haarlem-East and how this quarter of the city might be developed into a vital component of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. Besides a cash prize of €12,500, the winning team received the assignment to elaborate its vision into an exhibition in the form of a design workshop. This will be presented at the Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAI) from 26 November 2011 and in Haarlem from April 2012. > Read more...
